Chocolate Dipped Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Delicious Cookie for Entertaining or as a Christmas Gift in a
Snowman Basket for Santa Claus or a Special Friend

1½ cups regular oats, uncooked
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
12 oz semisweet chocolate morsels
4.5 oz grated milk chocolate bars
1½ cup chopped pecans
12 oz chocolate flavored coating

Finely ground oats in a blender or food processor. Set aside.
Beat butter in a large bowl at medium speed until creamed; gradually add
sugars beating well. Add eggs and vanilla beat until mixed well.
In a separate bowl, combine ground oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder
and salt mixing well; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate
morsels, grated chocolate, and pecans.
Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at
375 for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly browned. Cool slightly and remove
to wire rack to cool completely.
Dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate coating mixture and place on
waxed paper to cool.
Yield is approximately 9 dozen.
